Job Summary
Reporting to the President, the Software Engineering Team Leader supports the development and delivery of web-based applications by leading a small development team while remaining hands-on with coding. This role is ideal for a developer ready to grow into leadership, combining frontend technologies such as Vue.js with backend technologies like PHP and MySQL. This role requires strong communication skills to interface directly with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small team of software engineers in daily development tasks
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers on assigned projects
- Assist with task breakdown, effort estimation, and sprint planning
- Foster a positive, professional, and learning-oriented team environment
Qualifications
- 8+ years building enterprise-grade web / Saas applications
- 5+ years in PHP-based development
- Experience with MySQL, including database design and query optimization
- Web technologies such as Vue.JS / React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Familiarity with popular web application frameworks such as Laravel (PHP) and Django (Python)
Useful Experience
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes, Docker, Django / Python
- RESTful APIs and backend integrations
- Git, Agile/Scrum workflows, and issue tracking tools
- Basic web security best practices (SQL injection, XSS, authentication)
- Mentoring peers or leading small development teams
- Work in customer-facing or consulting environments
